Granite Falls Municipal Hospital's Laboratory provides diagnostic laboratory services to the residents of the surrounding area, local nursing homes, and to patients of Affiliated Community Medical Center in Granite Falls. The laboratory is staffed by certified Medical Laboratory Technicians and Medical Technologists who are under the medical direction of a board certified pathologist.

We perform over 100,000 tests annually using state of the art instrumentation and perform over 95% of all testing collected in our laboratory. These laboratory services are offered 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The laboratory also participates in local health fairs, offering lipid and PSA testing.

The laboratory is accredited by COLA, a national healthcare accreditation organization. Accreditation is given only to laboratories that apply rigid standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous, biannual, on-site laboratory survey.

Recently, the laboratory went through a complete renovation and combined their services in one central laboratory to serve the patients of the hospital as well as the ACMC clinic here in Granite Falls. This has allowed us to better serve our patients with increased privacy, space, and efficiency.

This year we are embarking on the first step toward an electronic health record by implementing a new Laboratory Information System from Dairyland Healthcare Solutions. This system will allow better communication between the laboratory and the patient's personal physician by allowing access to laboratory results electronically.
