Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor Introduces Tobacco-Free Policy
All Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor campuses to become tobacco-free November 18, 2004
Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor is committed to providing a tobacco-free environment on all of its campuses effective November 18, 2004. This new tobacco-free policy was created in order to ensure a safe and healthy environment for our patients, visitors, employees, volunteers and medical staff. As a healthcare leader in west central Minnesota, we want to fulfill our purpose and mission to restore and promote the health and well-being of the residents of our communities. The decision to make our campuses tobacco-free was led by consistent feedback from patients, their families, medical staff and employees. Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor is not alone in our efforts.
Other local organizations which have recently instituted a tobacco-free policy on their campuses include: Affiliated Community Medical Centers, Rice Memorial Hospital, and Avera Marshall.
The use of tobacco products will not be permitted throughout Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor, Home Care, and Affiliated Community Medical Center including:
The policy is not intended to control any person's choice to use tobacco, but rather to create a healthier environment for everyone who comes to Granite Falls Municipal Hospital and Manor to work, receive care or visit a friend or family member.
